China: Producer Prices for the Industrial Sector for June 2011

In June 2011, the month-on-month producer price indexes for the industrial sector maintained the same level over the previous month, or it was up by 7.1 percent over the same month last year. The month-on-month purchaser price indexes for the industrial sector was 0.2 percent up while the year-on-year growth was 10.5 percent.

The month-on-month change of producer prices for means of production was down by 0.1 percent. Of this total, that for mining and quarrying industries was down by 0.9 percent; for raw materials industry, up by 0.1 percent; and for processing industry, down by 0.1 percent. The month-on-month change of producer prices for consumer goods went up by 0.1 percent. Of this total, that for food grew by 0.3 percent; for clothing, up by 0.2 percent; for articles for daily use, up by 0.2 percent and 0.2 percent decline for durable consumer goods.

The year-on-year change of producer prices for means of production went up by 7.9 percent. Of this total, that for mining and quarrying industries was up by 16.7 percent; for raw materials industry, up by 11.1 percent; for processing industry, up by 5.6 percent. The year-on-year change of producer prices for consumer goods went up by 4.6 percent. Of this total, that for food went up by 8.5 percent; for clothing, up by 4.4 percent; for articles for daily use, up by 4.2 percent and 0.5 percent decline for durable consumer goods.

The month-on-month purchaser price indexes for non-ferrous metals went up by 0.3 percent; the prices for fuel and power and ferrous metals maintained the same level over the previous month, and for raw chemical materials, down by 0.1 percent.

The year-on-year purchaser price indexes for non-ferrous metals went up 17.2 percent; for fuel and power, up by 12.0 percent, for ferrous metals, up by 8.9 percent and 12.5 percent increase for raw chemical materials.
