From January to October, value-added of the industrial enterprises above designated size (all state-owned enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises with an annual income over 5 million yuan) was up by 8.2 percent year-on-year, or 9.7 percentage points lower than that in the same period of 2007.

In terms of main sectors, the growth rate of textile industry mounted up by 7.8 percent; that of manufacture of chemical raw material and chemical products hit 2.7 percent; that of non-metal mineral products industry was up by 13.8 percent; that of general equipment manufacturing industry rose by 11.9 percent; that of transportation equipment manufacturing industry went up by 10.9 percent; the growth rate of electric machinery and equipment manufacturing industry jumped 13.9 percent; that of telecommunication, computer and other electric facilities manufacturing industry increased 6.9 percent, and that of production and supply of electric power and heat power expanded 3.4 percent; while that of smelting and pressing of ferrous metals industry declined 5.6 percent, year-on-year.

The coal and crude oil production reached 220 and16.35 million tons, respectively, went up by 9.2 and 3.9 percent from the same period a year ago. The electricity production reached 264.5 billion kilowatt-hours, down by 4.0 percent; that of pig iron, crude steel and rolled steel achieved 341.3, 359.0 and 429.3 million tons, decreased 16.8, 17.0 and 12.4 percent respectively; that of cement hit 120 million tons, up by 1.1 percent; that of vehicles got 7.3 million sets, down by 0.7 percent, of which, automobiles amounted to 4.17 million sets, jumped by 6.2 percent.

The sales ratio of industrial products was 97.4 percent, down by 0.78 percentage points with the same period of last year. The export delivery value of industrial enterprises reached 708.9 billion yuan, jumped by 6.8 percent.

From January to October, value-added of the industrial enterprises above designated size increased gained a year-on-year increase of 14.4 percent.
