Jan-Aug 2007, the total amount of electricity consumption in China was 2,118,182 million kwh, which has increased 15.20 per cent year-on year. The major demands of electricity were from the iron and steel, cement, nonferrous metals contour energy industries.
According the national statistic’s report that Jan-Aug 2007, the total amount of electricity generation was 2,086,094 mrillion kwh, which were generated by the major above-scale power plants. The figure has increased 16.3 per cent year-on-year. The contributions of the figure were, hydropower 277.1 billion kwh, up 9.1 per cent year-on-year; thermal power 1.763858 trillion kwh, up 17.5 per cent year-on-year;
Jan-Aug 2007, the average utilization hours of electricity equipments were 3,358 hours which have decreased 136 hours year-on-year. The utilization hours of hydropower equipments were 2,338 hours, dropping 47 hours year-on-year; the utilization hours of thermal power equipments were 1,570 hours, dropping 173 hours year-on year.
Expecting 2008, the total amount of electricity demands will reach 3.7234 trillion, the additional capacity of 76.74 million kw.
