According to the results of nationwide survey showed that entrepreneur confidence index (ECI) gained 135.5 in the first quarter, promoted 7.8 points over previous quarter, and gained the highest level since the second quarter of 2008.

The majority of entrepreneurs hold a positive attitude towards enterprise development. In the first quarter, the ECIs of industry, construction, transport, storage and postal industry, wholesale and retail trade, social services and accommodation and catering industry, stood at 133.7, 142.2, 127.9, 142.5, 132.9 and 127.8, respectively, increased 8.2, 5.7, 7.3, 11.2, 15.2 and 6.5 points over previous quarter. The ECIs of information transmission and computer services and software industry gained 152.8, remained the general level over last quarter. And that of the real estate stood at 133.1, with some extent of decrease than the previous quarter.

The majority of entrepreneurs’ confidence of registered enterprises picked up. The ECIs of state-owned enterprises, collective enterprises, limited liability companies, share-holding companies Ltd., private enterprises, and Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and foreign-invested enterprises, promoted to some extent over last quarter, and respectively was 133.5, 117.1, 132.9, 143.1, 127.7, 132.7 and 143.2, in which the ECI of share-holding companies Ltd. gained the highest increasing of 10.2 points, while that of cooperative enterprises declined to 117.2 over last quarter.

The ECIs of large, medium and small sized enterprises stood at 152.0 and 136.1 and 121.1, with a rise of 11.5, 7.9 and 5.2 points respectively over last quarter.

The ECIs of eastern, central and western regions has picked up. In the first quarter, the ECIs of eastern, central and western regions stood at 133.6, 139.5 and 135.2, went up by 5.9, 10.8 and 8.5 points quarter-on-quarter.
